Whether you’re visiting San Francisco to attend a convention or gathering family and friends for a special occasion, a private Wine Country tour is the perfect getaway to help you network or celebrate.
In September 2019, Green Dream Tours set a company record when we organized 25 private tours for more than 300 guests. We handled everything from last-minute reservations for three couples at Opus One in Napa to coordinating wine tasting for a group of 70 as part of the wedding festivities.
Green Dream Tours treats all private tour guests individually, assessing which winery experiences are right for each group. Some groups want education, including a wine cave tour. Others request wine and food pairings at boutique wineries. And yes, some groups just want to relax and party without having to drive and think about logistics.
When the American Dental Association met at San Francisco’s Moscone Center Sept. 5-9, Sandy Bonar contacted Green Dream Tours to organize a private wine tour for five couples visiting from Canada.
“From the first phone calls, I knew I had chosen well,” wrote Sandy Bonar in her TripAdvisor review. “They promptly responded to every question via phone or email, and believe me I had plenty! There are so many wineries to choose from so I leaned on Green Dream Tours to help me select a variety that pleased all of us. Their attention to detail is fabulous so I absolutely recommend this company.”
Green Dream Tours partners with Napa and Sonoma wineries to create immersive Wine Country experiences. The following itinerary reflects a balance of small, medium and large wineries, with a hidden gem, a picturesque vineyard setting and a glamorous hilltop chateau.
- 9:00am Pickup at San Francisco hotel
Photo stop at GG Bridge, weather and time permitting - 10:30-11:30am Schug Winery – Wine Tasting in Sonoma
- 12:00-1:45pm Bouchaine Vineyards – Wine Tasting and Picnic in Napa
- 2:00-3:15pm Domaine Carneros – Tasting in Napa
- 5:00pm Arrive back in San Francisco
On one of our small, intimate private tours, a couple stepped off the bus as boyfriend and girlfriend, and when they reboarded they were engaged!
On the opposite end of the spectrum, we took 19 men from Iceland to Wine Country. They were all turning 40 years old and came to San Francisco to celebrate without their wives and partners. They wanted to keep lunch simple so we arranged for outside seating at The Red Grape in Sonoma Square.
“The party atmosphere begins as soon as the group boards the bus, and as the tour proceeds throughout the day, each winery stop adds new experiences for the group to share and remember,” says Green Dream Tours guide Jeffrey Rosen. “Private tours maintain a special level of respect and celebration in my book. Private tours begin with the necessary foundations already in place: the familiarity of the guests already knowing one another, the intimacy of sharing a private vehicle with friends, family and/or co-workers, and an amazing itinerary captained by a dynamic and educated professional guide.”
